Best Five Star Bangkok Hotels with Bars

Bangkok Rooftop Bar Hotels

Get Drunk, Crawl to Your Room

Every time my friends visit me in Bangkok, they’re looking for bars to chill out and have drinks. And I know these people very well. They can’t hold their liquor if their life depends on it.

Instead of me becoming the default designated driver, I suggest they choose a Bangkok hotel with terrific bars on premises. So they can crawl to their rooms.

Kidding aside, here’s my selection and perfect examples of how affordable five star hotels in the middle of Bangkok are. And the prices I’ve listed are for two guests. So if you are traveling alone, the prices might be a little cheaper.

Do note that many hotel bars offer happy hours and drink specials. Prices for drinks are not crazy expensive, but not cheap either. And often a terrific value considering they stock top shelf liquors.

All of these hotels are in central Bangkok near the city’s red light districts.

Located in the heart of central Bangkok, Montraj Coach Sukhumvit Bangkok is an incredible hotel. And so affordable, this hotel is a classic example of how hotels in Bangkok are a great value. This hotel has a rooftop swimming pool and a fitness center with modern equipment.

Abandoned Mansion is this hotel’s on-premises bar. This is a very popular speakeasy jazz bar with amazing singers and musicians. Montraj Coach Sukhumvit Bangkok is on my highly recommended list.

Bar Name: Too many to name
Price: 4500 THB per night (two guests)

Only in Bangkok, Thailand, can you score a five star hotel for $150 USD a night. The Standard is located in Bangkok’s Silom neighborhood, near the city’s commercial business district. Among a few international high end hotels.

For 4500 THB per night, you get a 29 square meter room. Plenty of space for a long stay. It’s the tallest building in the area. So a great view of Bangkok and beyond is to be expected. The pool and fitness center are a bit small. But you’re just here for the drinks!

Bar Name: Vanilla Sky, Madura, The Ledger Room, Liquid Pool Bar
Price: 3300 THB per night (two guests)

Skyview is also in a great Bangkok neighborhood, especially if you love shopping. There are multiple high-end shopping malls in this area. Including an IKEA, just had to mention this since I ate there today.

The price is terrific because their Premier King room size is 32 square meters. There’s a small pool, but a decent fitness center with plenty of space and updated equipment.

Phrom Phrong station is 150 meter walk. There are plenty of restaurants and food courts in the area near this hotel.

If you watched the Hangover Part 2 movie, there’s a scene shot at this hotel’s Sky Bar on the 63rd floor. Lebua at State Tower was built in 2006. At the moment, it’s being renovated in phases so this hotel is still fully operational.

And so are the six popular bars and even a few Michelin rated restaurants within the Lebua at State Tower. With that in mind, this hotel does have a strict dress code policy.

Okura Prestige Bangkok ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Okura Prestige Bangkok

Bar on Premise: Up & Above Bar
Price: 7000 THB per night (two guests)

Japanese hospitality and quality service in the heart of Bangkok. As one of the most expensive bar hotels on this list, Okura Prestige Bangkok is still a top value in my book. And sure, it’s as expensive as a hotel room in Japan.

Though a 7000 THB room here will get you a spacious 43 square meter room. A beautiful infinity pool with an amazing view to lounge around, and a state of the art fitness center. Up & Above Bar is an incredibly elegantly designed bar on the 24th floor.

And the location of this hotel is right in central Bangkok, near many top shopping centers. As well as access to the city’s BTS Sky Train.

As of writing, it’s the low season, which is why the room rates are attractive. High season starts in November through April, where rates can go up 20% to 30%. But hotels in Thailand try to keep rates reasonable to attract guests.
